Ark Continuity Limited welcomes Cabinet Office Minister to the next phase of Spring Park Data Centre Campus by Ark Data Centres, 27th May 2013

The Cabinet Office Minister with responsibility for ICT, efficiency and reform, Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, visited Ark Continuity the data centre provider, in Corsham, Wiltshire on Friday.

During the visit with local MP for Chippenham, Duncan Hames, the Minister was able to see how Ark, a SME, has developed a model for data centre provision which can save organisations up to 40% of their costs through lower energy and running costs while maintaining the highest levels of security, given its secure location adjacent to MOD Corsham. Ark Continuity is a leading provider of data centres, the backbone of modern ICT for both the public and private sectors, and boasts the most sustainable, secure, and ready to use facilities in the UK.

The Minister was also able to discuss with Ark how agile and off the shelf ICT products can be better procured and used by the public sector to drive efficiency and reform in Government.

Jeff Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Ark commented:

“I was delighted to host the Ministers here at Ark’s data centre in Corsham, which is the UK’s most efficient and secure. We were able to discuss how SMEs, such as ourselves, can deliver competitive, low cost, agile and secure solutions for the public sector during these times of austerity.”

Duncan Hames MP, the MP for Chippenham who works closely with Government on sustainability issues said:

“I was pleased that the Minister for the Cabinet Office accepted my invitation to visit Ark Continuity at Spring Park and that he was able to see how this small local business is blazing a trail that could revolutionise Government computing.”
