On Friday 14 August, 45 participants from Ark Data Centres and its partners (including Sweets, Norland Managed Services, Bladeroom, Vysiion and JCA) will ride over 90 miles in a single day to raise a critical £10,000 in aid of this year’s nominated charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. Departing from Ark’s offices in Farnborough and finishing at its campus site in Corsham, the riders – 17 more than those who participated in 2014 – will be riding in three groups: Team Roadrunner, Team Hare and Team Turtle.

The race will be started by Natalie Hill, Fundraising Manager North East Hampshire Macmillan Cancer Support, and will be closed by Steve Goodrick, Fundraising Manager Wiltshire Macmillan Cancer Support. With professional support help from John Bailey and the team at Veloworx to keep the wheels turning, the team will battle the hills, potholes and typical British summer weather.

Goodrick commented, “In 2015 there are now 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK, which is set to rise to four million by 2030. Almost 1,000 people every day receive a cancer diagnosis across the UK. As a charity which receives no government funding, almost all the funds we receive is by public donation, and this fabulous initiative by Ark Data Centres will enable us to extend our reach still further to help more people in the community.”
