Ark’s Sponsored Golfer’s Fantastic Finish in the European Challenge Tour by Ark Data Centres, 4th November 2013

ARK Data Centres’ sponsored golfer, Tyrrell Hatton, has secured his card for the European Tour in 2014 following a highly impressive end to this year’s European Challenge Tour.

22 year-old Hatton has long been earmarked as one of Britain’s brightest young golfers, and outlined his vast potential by carding a final round score of 68 to finish joint sixth in the Dubai Festival City Challenge tour Grand Final, hosted at the Al Badia Golf Club by InterContinental last weekend.

Finishing tenth overall in the Challenge Tour, Hatton has secured his place alongside the biggest names in golf for next year’s European Tour and will continue to work towards his long-held goal to be one of the world’s top 50 players.

As he graduates from the European Challenge Tour, his Overall World Golf Ranking for 2013 climbs an amazing 543 positions from 915 to 372.

Tyrrell began playing golf aged 5, and quickly established an ambition to turn professional. In 2011 he had the privilege to be part of the England Team, before accomplishing his dream at the age of 20. Now, as he turns 22, he graduates to the European Tour after competing in just two European Challenge Tours.

Stephen Hall, Executive Sales & Marketing Director for Ark, says “We are so happy for Tyrrell, he has worked really hard to achieve his goal to secure his full European Tour card for next year. Ark selected Tyrrell to sponsor as his work ethic and potential mirrors that of Ark. Our company values and best
practices ensure we deliver the UK’s most efficient data centres; Tyrrell strives to deliver the best game he can and puts maximum effort into each and every tournament. We truly believe that Tyrrell has an exciting and bright future and his ambition to be the best matches our own philosophy.”

Now in its 25th year, the European Challenge Tour began in 1989 as the Satellite Tour with the objective to develop the next generation of young golfers, and quickly established itself as the spring board for talented golfers including Thomas Bjorn and Eduardo Molinari.

Hoping to follow in their footsteps, Tyrrell Hatton says “At the start of the year I set myself a clear goal of securing my European Tour card, and to achieve it in the final Challenge Tour event of the year in Dubai is a great feeling. I would like to say a big thank you to all those who support me including Ark Data Centres,
who understand my ambitions to develop as a golfer. Since a young age, I have been determined to become one of the top 50 golfers in the world and my focus now is to kick on in 2014 – there is more to come!”
